Lily St. John McKee was born November 24, 1987, in Washington, D.C. She became captivated by books at an early age, and found refuge from childhood challenges in reading. Intrigued with theater, she joined youth programs at the Folger Shakespeare Library, and starred as Puck in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in high school. At Ohio's Muskingum University she double-majored in English and History, graduating cum laude in 2011, then earned a master's degree in creative writing at Bath Spa University in England. She joined efforts to help young people address bullying by peers, engaged in projects to protect sensitive environments, and rode horseback as a hobby. Devoted to her parents and two siblings, she traveled widely with her family - to Costa Rica, Iceland, Patagonia, Egypt, and Newfoundland, her setting for Crestfall. Finishing the novel in the autumn of 2014, she began writing another, set in colonial Massachusetts, before falling ill, then suffering acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Lily McKee passed away on March 19, 2014. All proceeds from the sale of Crestfall will be donated to support medical research on ARDS.

Aria Andrews comes to Newfoundland for the funeral of her twin sister, Sonata, whom she has not seen in seven years. Sonata has been brutally murdered and Aria must find the murderer with the help of her brother, Finn, and the policeman in charge, Bennet Halfknight. All three of the Andrews siblings had magical powers: Aria has command over earth, Finn over fire, and Sonata had command over the air.Finn's new girlfriend is a witch and she and Aria become friends. Sophie also helps in this paranormal murder mystery where there are werewolves and other creatures.
Crestfall is an engaging story and brings a fresh perspective to paranormal worlds that is still within credibility. I especially liked the origin story for the werewolves. The descriptions of Newfoundland were right on and perfect for the story. I enjoyed this book and I think that any lover of paranormal tales would like it too.

Aria is going home, but she really doesn't want to. Heading home for her twin sisters funeral and is regretting the decision. Its been seven years since she left home and left her family behind. An accident that almost killed her, Aria has been happy since leaving. Now coming home and finding out not only was her twin murdered but the way it happened. Aria can not leave until she knows who is behind it all.
Crestfall is a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters are a little light and the story at times jumps and drags, but all in all a fun read. The author came up with a great mystery that I didn't figure out until almost the very end. This is a five fangs book from me!
Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock!
It is a great book full of surprises, with a great supernatural twist.
A very enjoyable story with interesting characters and twists. As with many paranormal books it is somewhat dark - with light at the end. The story moves well and new characters are introduced with subtle surprises.
